This is a quote from a current ebay listing:

This sensor is not gray,some other listings say the gray sensor fits 1994-2003 but Fort has two part numbers, one for 1994-1996 and one for 97-03. They are different part numbers and different colors. ...

I thought I heart about a color indicating the latest greatest sensor. I have a 96 and a 97 and am buying one replacement and two spares.

Please let me know what you know about these sensors.

check to make sure that your trucks received the recall, if you did not then ford will replace for free.

not sure on on the color thing, auto zone or advanced has them and you can return them if they are bad, hows the return policy on items with eBay?

The one I'm replacing was replaced under recall 12 months ago. I saw in an older thread somewhere that autozone and advance are to be avoided. The ebay items (ford parts)(from an ebay store) are paypal protected and come from a 100% posotive feedback dealer. In my experience, a good ebay reputation is better than most retailers.

Still wondering about the different part numbers and colors
