EBPV issue??
We dont get oo many freezing mornings where I am, but I make sure to plug in when I have a feeling that it will be. This morning (and a few others) I got caught off guard and ended up plugging my block heater in about an hour before leaving. I cylcled my plugs twice and it fired right up with ease. I let it idle for about 10 minutes before leaving. As soon as I increase RPM I can hear a very loud "whoosh" sound that seems to come from the passenger side firewall-floor area. If I let off of the throttle, it continues until it reaches idle. If I increase throttle it continues and the stops abruptly and boost kicks in. It is clear that it has something to do with the turbo due to not building boost pressure. I have read in a few threads about the EBPV sticking or clogging and causing a similar issue, however, no one mentions the increase of RPM. What I have read speaks mostly to idling. I would do the delete, no problem....doesnt bother me. BUT....I have another issue.... My pyrometer quit working suddenly. I have checked ALLLLLLL wiring and even reached out to Auotmeter to get technical assistance from them. Ultimatley, I have no idea why it isnt working....it has power....simply wont read any temperature. To top that off, my Coolant Temp gauge( stock, in dash) never reads above a needles thickness. Would that throw any confusion to the PCM about running the EBPV? I know I'm throwing about 10 needles in the sack..... Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated!!

Does this valve have any weight in reference to protection of components? For example: If the truck senses too much load during cold weather or before warm up, does the valve open? I thought about unplugging it as well, but wanted to check and see if there may be a reason beforehand. I have yet to test any of the components for the coolant temp, I was just seeing if that may have any reasoning behind the EBPV operation. Thanks for the reply!!!
