6.4 tranny is strong, just make sure you drain the water out of the fuel once a/month, change the oil every 5,000 miles, & don't go more than 15,000 miles without changing both fuel filter & you'll be ok

Stock, the power is ok, mileage is horrible.

A DPF delete and custom tuning will unleash the beast. Mileage will improve greatly (12-13 stock, unloaded, tuned they're closer to 17-20). You can tune up near 600rwhp. The stock trans will take pretty much anything you can throw at it, AS LONG as you have good tunes. Tuning is key to the life of the trans.

The downfalls are they're not the easiest to work on... cab needs to come off for nearly any major repair.

The fuel systems are extremely expensive on these, stay on top of fuel filters and use quality fuel.

I bought my 2008 F-250 6.4 NEW in 10/23/ 2008, I've only had one code in 3 years 2 months & it was the DPF, but I drove it hard & code left (I bet it was a dirty DPF)
