Default some advice and knowledge please!

ok. i have been in the hunt for a newer truck for a while now. i have test driven everytruck forsale east of the mississippi. i am going to look at a 08' f250 supercab 4x4 6.4. what to look for? any known issues with the trucks? is it anything like the 6.0 issues? the truck and price is amazing. the dealer said the oasis report is clean. am i going to regret this?

Ask for the service history, the 6.4 must have the water drained out of the diesel once a month, oil change every 5,000 miles(manual say 10,000 max if you don't tow, drive it hard, or don't drive in dusty condition) but I change my oil every 5,000 miles, Fuel filters must be change every 15,000 miles(again manual say you could go 20,000 miles) but I do it every 15,000 miles. I've done this & my truck is 3 years old now{I bought it NEW in 10/23/2008} No problems

awesome... is there any egr....oil cooler....head gasket issues with these like the 6.0's had? i also saw something about a radiator issue? what is that? all the truck will see if i get it is a tuner, dpf delete, and cold air intake. do these handle those mods good?

The radiator issues were with the JOB 1{those were the ones built before 7/2007)

The 6.4 has egr, as for head gasket it's a lot harder to blow than the 6.0. Use ULSD & never use bio-diesel over B5

You need a tuner to do a DPF/DELETE

The 6.4 dosen't use DEF. I heven't heard anyone with head gasket issues on the6.4. They have larger head bolts to start with. As long as you do your maint. like Gun said you should be fine. Just do your due diligence BEFORE you buy it. Get service records, carfax, ect. And for pete's sake test drive it long enough to get every thing warm.
