If it's not a dpf delete programmer, it will make your dpf do more regen till it clog it, the more regen the more diesel you waste giving you some low mpg

Default Throwing low brake fluid code

Here's one for the books. I started throwing a low brake fluid message and the warning buzzer would sound off. It did this intermittently especially on rough roads. The reservoir was full but I still got the warning. I figured it must be the sensor in the reservoir but guess what, you can't buy a replacement sensor, neither can you buy the plastic reservoir. You have to replace the whole master cylinder. What a bunch of B.S. So I tried eliminating the sensor by unplugging it and jumpering two of the 3 wires in order to fool the ECM. I still got the same warnings intermittently. After some time I started getting a hard code and a brake failure light. The truck brakes work just fine and the reservoir is still full. I got tired of listening to the warning buzzer so I removed it. I re-connected the level sensor and still get the warning flash on the dash but at least it is quiet now, no buzzer. I also noticed that I could yank the wheel to the right and trigger the warning so I thought I must have a wiring or connector problem. Had to pull the battery and battery box to get to the wiring but I found no problem with wires or connectors. Anyone have any ideas?

Default To delete or not to delete that is the question

I just turned 80K miles on my '08 6.4 PSD and have noticed that I do not get an Exhaust cleaning cycle as often as I have in the past. When I do get the read out notice it just stays on for a few seconds and I can't sense any change in operation. I have also noticed that my fuel economy has fallen off some from around 14.5 MPG ave down to about 12.5 MPG. I'm running a Hypertech max energy tuner and I can feel the difference in power with the different tunes but with the factory settings and the Hyp. tunes the mpg. are lower than in the past. So I'm wondering if I might be suffering from some blockage in the DPF. If so, some one clue me in on what to expect if I go the delete route vs. pulling the DPF and having it cleaned.

Since your truck is out of warranty, I wouldn't waste a penny replacing any of the pollution control parts. The hard part is finding a DPF/DELETE tuner, then remove the DPF & EGR. Your truck will last longer & run better

Thanks gunman41mag, I would like some hard data on the before and after performance of a DPF, EGR delete. I am now on a fixed income and dropping 1.5K and up for these mods is a major outlay that needs hard data to justify. Can you point me to some data sources?
Thanks

My 2008 6.4 F-250 EGR was clogged at only 62,000 miles & the DPF was doing regen to clean itself, that would waste fuel & dump fuel into the oil

Once I did the DPF & EGR deletes my truck runs a lot better, more power & haven't had any engine issues

Working on 2008 6.4 work truck, always loaded with off road fuel tank, tools, usually pulling trailer and bobcat - short hops between job sites. Goes into regen every day, limp mode, even hour long drives do not work. Dealer wants $1-2k to replace DPF.
Looking for DPF delete, cat delete, EGR delete parts and tuner.
Wonder if delete pipe needs bungs or not? if simple $20 egr blocking plates work? which tuners have dpf cat and egr delete with tow tune?
Dont need graphics display but would be nice to read ford specific codes, but main objective is get the truck working right again!
Thanks, Willyam in GA
