My 2008 F-350 won't turn over but the batteries are charged, what is the problem?

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

I should have stated or rather have asked if anyone out there has any idea as to what is causing my truck engine to not want to turn over even though the batteries are charged. Please help.

Well the starter is in a hard spot to get to and I have not checked the switch. I was hoping it would be a fuse or relay.

I know this is an old thread but did you get any closure on this? I'm having the same problem with my '08 F-350 diesel--sometimes it won't turn over at all.

I've wired a a starter button to the solenoid and it will start with the button.

I'd appreciate any helpful hints.

It's not throwing any codes. It just doesn't turn over sometimes. It's all very odd.

I guess that's a possibility. It starts just fine with the starter button I wired in (just a momentary switch from a hot wire to the starter solenoid), so the problem has to be somewhere between the ignition switch and the starter solenoid. I haven't been able to find a good schematic of the starter circuit, though, to see what all is involved.

Your starter button is wired from battery to the starter? my questions is what have you bypassed i would say swap your relays and see what happens i think there is also a fuse for the relay highly unlikely that the ignition switch is toast as long as your lights and blinkers work and all that and the starter engadges every time you use the botton ???

Honestly? The best possible thing anyone can advise is take it to a shop. How can anyone diagnose this issue over the Internet? They cant! Pretty much all ecm/pcm/bcm controlled systems these days. Nothing for the at home folks to aside from start positive and signal.
