Default Learned something new the hard way..

For future reference, if anybody needs/wants to know, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make sure to do custom tuning if you replace any factory parts that use the computer system on your truck. Example below:

I bought my truck with everything in the signature except the SCT and KEM Tunes from a gentleman 4 months ago.

I used the spartan tunes because well, in honesty, she was stupid nasty to drive around and ripped anything to shreds if they wanted to race. All well and good.... Until i dropped the trans out from under the truck one night while driving around with buddies. No reverse, 5th gear or lockup. Did it without warning too, just died right after taking off from a stop sign. You can imagine my reaction that night--->

Anyways, pulled the trans out and sent it back to NADP, MAJOR shoutout to these guys, they are amazing. While the trans was in transit i did hours and hours of surfing forums trying to find a reason or reasons why my trans died at only 18,000 Miles, it was trans dyno guaranteed to 1000hp so no way i blew it up that quick. Well i finally found my answer on one of those backroad forum sights, and i confirmed this with both KEM and Innovative diesel, which i should have just called them first. They said the canned tunes were made with the intentions of being ran on trucks that just had the egr and dpf deletes done, maybe studs and **** too. They werent however made with intentions of having a full billet race trans being ran in my truck, so the tunes tried to run the built trans like a stock trans, and thats why it died so early. Eric at Innovative told me its a general rule of thumb where if you replace any factory parts on the truck that run off the computer system, its best to switch to custom tuning, that way the tunes can be made to include the fact its not a factory part anymore.

Sorry for the long story but i really needed to explain this because i lost sleep over why my trans had died so early on, and hope i can help others by posting this story here.
