Default New to Ford Powerstroke

I am looking at an 08 XLT Crew Cab with the 6.4 ps. it only has 82k miles on it and already has an egr and dpf delete. I know absolutely nothing about these trucks or motors. I am not looking to build a high horsepower machine. This truck will be used as a secondary vehicle and occasionally haul a few motorcycles. Any help would be great thanks guys!

My 2008 had a dpf delete with +80 HP tune was real fast, but my truck was stolen. The 6.4 has plenty of power, as long as you change the oil every 5,000 miles, the fuel filters every 15,000 miles & drain the water out of the fuel filter once a month, your 6.4 will have no issues

Deleted and a mild tune to go with it and it should last a long time. You may want to upgrade the lift pump. Just make sure you do regular maintenance religiously.

Oh, and a monitor would be nice to keep track of things.

Thanks guys! I am meticulous with maintenance and the add says it has an egr and dpf delete along with a tuner and exhaust. How are the transmissions on these things?

The 5R110 is solid. Very few problems with them.

Question New to Powerstroke

Hi everyone. I recently just purchased my used 2008 F-450 (82k miles, 6.4L, all stock) where I have only installed the S&B Cold Air, and Banks iDash/iGauge Tuner). I am getting ready to perform the EGR/DPF deletes). Since I will be doing this I need to have a EGR/DPF Delete Tuner so thinking of the MINI MAXX for this.

Question: I have been told by several performance shop owners that these 6.4L engines need to have the head bolts replaced with head studs. In this thread however I have not seen any mentions of any of you having to do this. Is it all hype the shops are feeding me or is this something we should actually do on these 6.4's?

Thank you.
