Default Intermittent Problem

From time to time when idling the little battery light on my dash lights up, then when you give the truck rpm if goes off. Sometimes it goes off at 900rpm sometimes it goes off at around 1500 rpm. Not every time it's idling does this happen, very intermittent. I was thinking alternator or regulator but not sure because it doesn't always do it. Has anyone else encountered this problem. The truck is a 04 6.0 with no mods. Thanks

i had this problem with my 96 4 runner. turned out the alternator was over charging. it was on constantly after a while before i parked it. i was warned that it could start taking its toll on the electrical system eventually.

Have you pulled all your connections and cleaned them up? could be just dirty and an easy fix

I would guess alt too. Bring it somewhere and have it load tested! You should try seeing if you have an alternator/battery shop local. They can sometimes just rebuild/rewind your dying one and even bump up the amperage on it too.
