Default Deleting my EGR cooler

I have a appt. set up to have my EGR cooler removed and I can't wait. I have so far added a Airaid air intake, Banks 4" exhaust and a Bully Dog Pup programmer. I am going to remove the Bully Dog programmer and return my settings to stock (the Bully Dog programmer I have doesn't support EGR removal). I am getting a SCT tunner which will increase my HP back up to the same as the Bully Dog and i can remove the ECL with the SCT tunner. I was told that it will not only lower my egt's and extend the life of my motor ,but I will get up 3 mph's better fuel mileage. "That's awesome"

while youre in there you might as well have the oil cooler rebuilt. it will add a couple hundred bucks to the job if you are paying to have it done but well worth it for the piece of mind. I havent noticed any mileage gain but that was mostly due to me not staying off the go pedal and now my FICM is going bad but hopefully once thats done ill see some mileage. Are you studded yet? Good luck

1. For my latest rant on EGR cooler/valve delete, the "need" for a programmer to eliminate the ECL, etc. see the post titled "?s". Also see "got my EGR delete done and out of the way". They are both pretty insightful.
2. As others have said here, tune for power not mileage, you won't be as upset. What's that mean? Well, I for one have done no programmer, Edge Juice Platinum, and SCT tuned by Innovative Diesel, I have yet to see any mileage changes. Plenty of power, but little to no mpg changes.
3. It REALLY helps to know what PSD you have, most of us put our info in our signature.

Last, but certainly not least, welcome aboard, you're sure to learn A LOT here, I have.

The custom tuned SCT will run circles around any bullydog product and will be safer for your engine and transmission, all while making more power.

Keep dreaming on the 3 mpg improvement. You'll be lucky to see any difference. I noticed a touch quicker spool up and quicker cool down when I get to my destinations, but that's about it. I'm just happy it's all off the truck.
