So are the Motorcraft filters that are available at part stores alright to use? I understand that ford endorses Motorcraft but with that price difference between Motorcraft and the dealership, I didn't know if there was a difference. No IH shops around here, so I have to do the next cheapest. thanks

Motorcraft Filters I got were P/N: FL-2016 for the oil filter and FD-4604 for the Fuel Filter.

Fordparts.com list price on oil filter is $29.43 and the fuel filter set is $76.65.

The IH I worked for uses Luber Finer filters. The part number crosses over to LP2017 for the oil filter and L4604F for the fuel filter.

I get 1844588C91 as a Oil Filter Number that says *FORD ONLY*, and the fuel filter kit is 1847170C94 as posted by Mdub.

Hope this helps somebody.

Another tip for others out ther tht may need the assistance, you can also run a hot wire direct from positive battery post to a/c with engine running! You can audibly hear the compressor click on if its good. You CAN leave it this way, but will eventually burn up stuff tht you dnt want burned up. This method rules out either a/c or wiring/fuses behind a/c oh and, if left connected over night, will run ur battery dead. Personal xp

I wasn't aware of the need to use Ford or international filters till I read this. I changed my filters yesterday morning with a duralast filter and the truck ran awesome for 130 miles then I started getting terrible throttle response and the truck sounded and felt like it was struggling. I pulled over to investigate and got no codes checking with my sct tuner. The truck wouldn't start at first then fired up. It blew a ton a black smoke for a mile every time I touched the throttle then it went back to sucking. Could this be the filters fault?

I did some price checking today and here is what I found: Walmart.com Motorcraft FD-4616 Fuel filters $41.56, and a Motorcraft FL2016 OIL filter is $18.51. Maney International here in Duluth, Mn. there part #1847170C93 or 94 fuel filters are $60.00 and the front water drain plug 6E7Z-9C082-A is $24.38. From Amazon.com the Motorcraft FD-4616 fuel filters are $41.09, and the Motorcraft FL-2016 OIL filter is $18.40. Since you are over the minimum $35.00 the shipping is free and tax is very minimum. I already have the International Front Water Drain Plug so I did not check that any further. Hope this info helps.
