Default transmission problems???????

i have a 2004 f350 6.0L, diesel lariat. only thing new is a new intake. 241,000 kms
last year i replaced FICM and also computer harness at a dealer ship.

problem while driving the truck the speed between 70km - 90km (50mph- 60mph) the trucks starts to shake and kick only when the rpms are sitting around the 1000 and up mark. it seems that its shakes and sputters only around that area. if give more throttle slowly the shaking and kicks are harder and rapid. i took the truck in once to fix this and they said it was the ficm and they fixed it.... ya not the problem as soon as i drove it home it started kicking in that area. for a while there were no kicks and then just yesterday they are back and harder. im thinking its the transmission cause it only happens when i hit last gear and the rpms are low, i checked codes and nothing at all. what could be the problem????? cause everytime i bring in the truck they fix something else and my bank account gets really low...

I'm not sure of whats happening with your truck, but i would find new mechanics for sure. perhaps you can ask around on the forums for advice on a good diesel mechanic that is familiar with the 6.0 powerstroke in your area. Best of luck!

I'd almost bet my paycheck you're just experiencing some injectors starting to stick. The spool valves stick inside and causes this. It will get progressively worse and worse. The quick and easy fix is some REV-X. Try it, I bet it goes away.

It's when you get low RPM's right and up into overdrive? Mine used to do this exact thing. It's just lugging the motor more, Injection pressure control is low under these conditions since you're barely on the skinny pedal, but the truck still needs power to push 8000lbs down the road at 65 mph.

Mine started ever so slightly only when it shifted into overdrive, it progressively got worse and worse over the months, and finally got to the point where I couldn't drive the truck in the middle of the summer without it warming up for 15 minutes.

Try some Rev X brother.

Is the truck stock? still have the egr system working?

Ive seen quite a few badly clogged egr valves do this. Sometimes it will throw codes sometimes it wont.

pull your egr valve and clean it with brake kleen or maf censor cleaner and a brush. Be sure not to spray cleaner up into the part where it seals on the intake manifold. FYI remove the two rubber o rings before cleaning because a lot of the cleaners will eat up the rubber on the o rings. If you have never cleaned it before, I would bet it is pretty carbon'd up. Easy to do, easiest when engine is cool. Good luck, let us know if it helps
