Default off road diesel question

what is the difference betwen off road diesel and reg diesel?
some say is just the red die. some say is only the price.
i have a friend that use it in every other tank.
what is the good and the bad for your truck? like injectors, fuel pump etc...
i've hear is like a $10,000 fine if you get cought.

I dont know how the DOT is around where you live but i was checked in SC and south GA back in the summer, they has every diesel truck lined up on the side of the road checking the tanks. Iv heard that red diesel has a higher sulffer but im not sure. I would not run it in a truck thats drove on the highway

They two fuels are exactly the same. Off road diesel in not taxed, therefor it is dyed red to catch thieves.
