yes, the problem was one of the injectors failed internaly at the spool valve. the test i done to figure it out was i pulled the fuel filter cap on top of the motor. filled the housing, then cranked the motor remotly with the key off. to do thatthere is a wire on the pass side that has a quick connect deal. it will be a single wire. un do it, and touch it to the positive terminal of the battery, and it will crank the motor. watch the fuel filter housing while its cranking, and if it is getting bubles in the housing, it is one of two things, it is either a copper sealing washer, or a internal failure.

Up air in fuel lines

Posting my fix as I had to research this issue after replacing my fuel filters.

Replaced both fuel filters and cycled a few times as I had read in forums. Engine started but was running very rough. Ended up dying and would not start at all.
Cycled fuel pump many times, tried starting many times and nothing. Killed batteries.
After charging batteries, I took the cap and filter off the top reservoir (empty of fuel). Turned key to let fuel pump cycle and watched diesel come out of that reservoir. (yes, I allowed it to spill out, onto ground) It was, of course, full of air. I cycled pump a 2nd time and diesel coming out of reservoir cleared up.
Replaced filter and cap, cycled one more time and cranked engine. Started right up! After a few minutes of idling, and a 5 mile hard test drive, we're back to normal!
