As an owner of a truck with dual alternators.... I have nothing useful to say about them. While they have never malfunctioned, I have no need for it, and they make it a royal PITA when you need to do any work on the front of the motor. I replaced the check valves with the open bolts for better fuel flow, took me 5x as long as someone without them. A lot of cool aftermarket add on stuff also mounts right where that second alternator is, and the intercooler piping that runs right next to it is "crushed" down from Ford to fit in there.
If you don't have a need for it, don't bother. JMO |
