one more question (until my nxt issue)......whats involved with the egr delete kit? In other words, besides the kit are there other things that would need to be done to accommodate for it? -

You'd need a reprogram to keep the truck from throwing codes. -

Since you have an 05, it will set a CEL. Youd need to get a programmer, sct w/ some custom tunes is what i would recommend, to keep the CEL off and to counter act the supposed EPA limp mode. -

def. get the heads checked and arp head bolts are fine for stock boost and an egr block would be good it would save the injectors in the long haul -

Default EGR Delete

For sure, do the EGR block. I just finished the EGR Bypass/block on my 04 6.0 F350. I have had 2 EGR coolers replaced in 70K miles. The last one cascaded into fan failure and burned out turbo. I blocked both the cooler and the Y pipe so I didnt have to align the Y pipe back up with V clamp. Dont forget to check your Y pipe and make sure the flap is removed. If you block the EGR and leave that exhaust flap in place you've wasted your time. It will block the increased flow of exhaust to the tubo and increase your back pressure in the engine. In addition to the bypass I added a Volant Cold Air Intake w/ MAF Sensor, and AMSOIL Oil By Pass filter system and a Edge Juice Platinum w/ Attitude. I am running about 200 degrees cooler on EGT and getting 18.5 mph on the freeway. We'll see in the long run if the problem is solved, but for now its a totally different machine. -

Default Wished I'd of known

Yeah I found out about the 05 and above after removing the up pipe. But, it was worth it because I ended up blocking both the up pipe and egr cooler inlet -

sounds like oil cooler. do the egr delete and get a remote oil cooler, the stock one will go bad again. -

Honestly i do not know how a blown EGR would dump coolant into the oil or make it burn. all the EGR does is blow exhaust gas back into the intake. it would make sense if you had bad head gaskets so the motor is blowing coolant out the exhaust and into the EGR. that would explain coolant in the oil too. -

The EGR COOLER can fail causing the engine to burn antifreeze. -
