Bad replacement ICP or another issue?
Late last year I was having surging at idle, and when driving. Codes P2285 and P2287. Replaced ICP (Bostech, not cheap EBAY one), everything fine for a while. Now, surging is back, along with an occasional no-start. The no-start was strange - eventually fired, but idled at 300-400rpm, no throttle response.
I now have P2287 again. I managed to record one surging event with my logging software ....ICP(psi) dips down for 1s, IPR and rpm blip up. See attached pic. I should say that when I replaced ICP first time, there was no leaking oil, wiring looked fine.
I've also noticed that ICP(Volts) fluctuates a lot at idle - 0.7V to 0.9V. Is this normal?
Could ICP have failed again? Or, am I chasing the wrong root cause?
Can ICP intermittent failure cause no-start? I thought ECU would go to default value?
Seems strange for new sensor to fail already, but could happen I suppose?
