Should I update my fusible links when upgrading from 105 Amp to 185 Amp alternator?
I upgraded my alternator from a 105 amp OEM to a DC Power 185 amp alternator.
1) Should I upgrade the fusible links in the cable that goes from the battery terminal on the alternator to the positive terminal on the passenger battery?
The current one is the original stock cable and has two 12 gauge fusible links connected in parallel.
2) Should I upgrade the gauge of the cable, since it now needs to carry 185 amps, instead of just 105?
The current cable looks like it's 4 gauge.
