Default cracked heads

Im new so any help is appreciated. How can you tell if your heads are cracked. I've heard your truck will blow white smoke, I Dont have that, I Dont have coolant in my oil but I'm loosing coolant.I've replaced my degas bottle cap. And my mechanic says it holds 16 psi. Where else would my coolant go. 05 powerstroke with 90, 000 miles. Have SCT tuner on tow mode and stock exhaust.

Best way to tell is pull off engine and send to machine shop. I would also check head gaskets and block for flat mounting surface to gaskets. I would also look for rust stains on outside of engine

Is it possible to loose coolant when the truck is not running I parked the truck last week and used a marker to mark the coolant level. It seems like its gonna down and 1/8 of an inch so far

There is a gasket on the bottom of your intake that I had to replace on one at work. I think it is from the egr, and it's right at the front. When the truck was off, and you put water in the degas bottle, it would basically just **** it out. It wasn't to bad to replace, just had to pull the intake. I dont remember the name of the gasket kit but it came with all the o rings to replace all the way down to it and the Intake gaskets.

I've had the truck parked and have been monitoring the level. I should be able to update my post within the next week. Thanks again for the input

Where is your coolant level on your degas bottle.
Did you know the mark on the bottle is wrong?
If you fill the tank to the level on the mark, when you drive it and then turn it off, the coolant will spill out the overflow hose a few minutes after you turn off the engine. Then when the engine cools back down, the coolant level will reach a level far below the mark on the tank. If you keep filling it with water to the level marked on the tank, you will lose your coolant protection. Each time you fill it, then drive it and it overflows again, the fluid that you lose is part coolant and part water. The more times you do this the lower the percentage the coolant becomes....if it gets low enough percentage it will start to overheat, making the problem worse and worse, because without coolant the truck gets hotter.

A lot of experienced PowerStroke drivers just fill the tank to a little over the low mark (when the engine is cold), knowing that the high mark is wrong. You can fill it to the high mark when the engine is fully warmed up, but the level will go back down to just below the low mark when the engine cools down.
