Default 4 x 4 help.

Got a 2006 ford f250 XLT FX4 crew cab. i dont think the auto lock works i think i have a vacuum leak. cause when i switch to hubs the air goes through the defrost. well idk what the cause of the leak is yet but when i did need 4x4 i just got out turn the hubs myself then turn the switch inside . well today i tried the 4x4 and it wouldnt work even with me turning the hubs. any ideas? what i need to look at to see if i have bad hubs or transfer case or what? thanks for youre time if i forget anything sorry.

there is a decent video on Utube about this. normally it is a vacumm line going to the hubs, you should also check the vaccum pump, sits right towards the back of the pass side battery. turn the key on and pull one of the vaccum lines off and you should hear the pump run

i decided to take the locking hubs off to look at them. i was wondering if the driver and the passenger looked the same or is maybe the driver side broke?
the one where it has the gears is the passenger side the one where just the ap and maybe the gears broke off inside is the driver

i know about that and i understand the auto 4x4 wont work. but before it was working if i got out and locked the hubs by hand and even that isnt working,

The transfer case has electronic switch. I would check wiring for chafing and make sure undidnt catch on something while wheeling. I would also check to see if power to solenoid non t case is getting signal from switch. Does the indicator on dash light up when u change position to 4x4?

Yea. I think it's good. I can hear the 4 x 4 thing on the transfer case working. When I turn from and to 4 x 4 the light turns on. If one hub if bad would that make it not work. Idk if you seen the pic but if the driver hub suppose to be just a cap when you take it of or like the same as the passenger side. Also my I joint was completely broke on the passenger side I'm change in that out later today.
