Default A little help?...

Was lookin for a bit of help and or info...My '06 6.0 will NOT blow any heat at idle, as soon as I start moving it works fine. EOT and ECT are around 186, everything seems fine. But just blows ice cold air till im moving. Not that it makes a difference but the truck has had head studs done, have an sct livewire ts with tunes from innovative, and an mbrp 4" turbo back. Any help would be greatly appreciated...Was thinking of getting some test strips for the coolant thinking maybe head gaskets? And coolant is at proper level....

The cooling systems are pretty efficient in these trucks since they handle so much heat in hotter climates due to egr and oil coolers in the loop. If u removed egr, you removed a heat source. Have you ever changed your thermostat? Check the valve in heater hose and make sure it is opening all the way too. Trace hose, you probably have a valve. My truck doesn't get very warm right away but it's not ice cold. There is only one setting that doesn't include ac compressor working also, it keeps ac working and removes some moisture for defrost.

I'm inclined to agree with A.j. on this. Thermostat may not be fully opening and same, same with valve in heater hose supply, as at idle you lessen the pressure flow. Once you accelerate flow of coolant increases thus heat.
