Default Looking at 06 f250

I'm a dodge man but a guy I know is looking to sell his 06 f250 4 door lariat fx4. It's loaded out and he bought it new. It has 46,000 miles on it and is clean as new. He said he would take $14,000 for it. I'm not very familiar with the 6.0 and know they have there share of problems but seems like a good deal. What does everyone think?

Doesn't sound like a bad deal. I have an 06 350 Super Duty crew cab 4x4 with 200,000+ miles. Top retail price according to NADA is just around $17,000.

For sale local. It's not listed anywhere. He bought new, pulled camper with it then bought a new dually so selling the 06. It looks and still smells new, only 46,000 miles. I own 2 5.9 dodges with a combined 850,000 miles on them with almost no problems ever. I thought bout buying the ford for wife to go to lowes in and such as my dodges are standard shift. If $14,000 is to high what would be a good price to offer him?

I would buy it and fully bulletproof it !!! I'm surprised Heavy Assault feels that way, but he does have a lot of good info and help on here ! The fact that you know where it came from makes it more appealing. I'm wishing I could buy it. . But I love mine!

What would you say is a good price as I don't want to get loaded up in it?if I don't like it I would want to get my money back. He wants $14000 but might get it for 12 or 13.

I'd jump to the op to buy the truck. The 6.0L did the job for what it was engineered to do, just had a few draw backs, which can now be taken care of. With a tuner, EGR delete, CAT delete, 3 or 4" straight pipe, APR headstuds, better head gaskets...pretty much $6,000 in bullet proofing its a damn fine engine. 05 and 07 had the fewest amount of problems.

There's a guy near Atlanta that does nothing but PowerStrokes, here's his website POWERSTROKEHELP.COM - The Information Source for Ford Power Stroke Diesel Owners & Mechanics

The 6.0L is a great engine, produced more power than a later 7.3L PowerStroke, met emissions that the EPA had put in place.

Went and drove it today and it runs, looks and drives like new. I low balled him at 13,000 and said he would let me know tomorrow. If he doesn't take it I will probably give the $14,000.
He only lives 5 miles from me so I've seen it around since it was new.
