Default Transmission nightmare

Got a 2003 6.0 powerstroke F-250 truck which has been giving several problems recently :-( latest problem is that the truck continuously drives forward !! In park it is trying to drive but cannot, in neutral it drives forward and when put into reverse it is selecting drive also and stalling the motor !!!! Any ideas or common problems anyone knows of or is it time to trade for a dodge with a cummins

Now you are really looking at transmission issues if you trade for a Dodge.

Sounds like your forward clutch pack is stuck together. . . Lotta miles or big power being transferred? . . The 5R 100 trans is usually pretty stout. I'm told by my transmission guy that if you left it with dead batteries or disconnected from batteries for a long time the trans needs to be reprogrammed or have time to relearn.

It only has 230,000km on the clock and has been well serviced. No crazy mods just flares, wheels and a Bully Dog programmer. How would the forward clutch pack stick together ?? It was showing a code last week that it was in 5th gear until trans temp came up then it would shift ?? Is it something that we could un-stick or do you mean `welded` together ?? Thanks for the help

I think your clutch pack got hot and " welded" together. . .the bully dog doesn't program your trans, just increases load. The sct from innovative programs trans and motor together for better power delivery. There are other programmers but I am a little familiar with innovative. My best guess would be to open up trans and rebuild damaged components . . . The dodges are known for trans issues. . . . If u bulletproof your 6.0 and get trans fixed you should have a great reliable truck .. .
