Default Oil bypass recommendations

Hey guys I have a little extra money coming in this month and figured it would be a good time to buy an oil bypass kit as well as a coolant filtration kit. I have a 2003 6.0l the engine is all stock 195k miles. I just had some little questions about both, first of all which brands would you recommend for both? Then for the oil bypass kit how far can I go on oil change intervals (I run rotella t-6 5w-40)? And as far as whichever is the best brand would I still use the stock oil filter? Then for the coolant filtration system? Would you recommend using a particular type of coolant? Right now I think I am running a shell (It was what we had in the ranches barrel). and when I install the coolant filtration kit should I change out the old coolant and should I flush the system in any way? if so with what and how? Sorry for all the questions guys, I don't know much about these two kits! If there is anything else that I am missing and you would like to add I would greatly appreciate it!

I'm not sold on Amzoil for motor oil but their by-pass filter kits are quite efficient. I for one don't believe in extended intervals so I will run 7500 mile changes never exceeding 10k miles.

You should always run OEM filters, don't trust anything else. You can find a coolant filter and base at the local NAPA. You can get the hoses to tie it all in just like all the others.

I would do a standard flush without using any chemicals. Just run the system clean with distilled water. Then add a ELC rated coolant like Fleetrite.

Ok so it sound like I will be going with the amsoil bypass kit, also would you recommend adding some rev-x oil additive? As far as the coolant kit, does anyone have any pictures or instructions on how I could build my own bypass kit? Like I stated above I have no experience with them and have no idea where they tie in and no idea what kind of filter and hose to use. I did see on kit with ball valves so that before I changed filters I could shut off the valve so I done make as much of a mess. And when I flush the system...fill the system completely with distilled water, then run and drain? Thanks for all the help!

You could also go with the BPD oil bypass with the BPD Amsoil filter adapter. This system will allow you to either use the cheaper bypass filters or the Amsoil EaBP series filters. Gives you more options if money is tight when it's time to change filters.

The adapter can be installed or removed for either style bypass filter.

I use the raycor BP802 system, It holds 2.5 quarts of oil more and filters down to less than 1 micron. I tapped a tee at the oil pressure sending unit and my return is at the oil plug in the left valve cover and the filter itself is mounted under the vehicle about where the drivers feet are at. To look at the engine you would not even notice the system. The down side is filters are harder to come by and about $25 each, when I use to pay about $7 each.
