Default Hard cold start and hot no start

Hi Everyone,

I have question on a 2004.

I takes at least three cranks of at least 8-10 secs each from a cold start. No smoke black or white after start. Now after it started if I was drive it and stop it a the gas station and try to restart after 5 min I would have a no start. But if I wait around 20-30 min or so it takes only two cranks as mentioned above.

I did notice after is get hot and idling the dummy oil gauge drops completely but if I increase the RPMs a bit the gauge registers normal, not sure if that is an issue?

Motor:
It does has a new IPR, STC, EGR Delete, and it is studded with also a OEM oil cover. While cranking the oil bowl fills up.

ScanGauge II readings:
IPR 14.4 @KOEO and 84.7@KOEC
FICUM 47.5 @KOEO and 48 @KOEC
ICP on first crank from 0-17 then second crank 0-17-37 then third crank 0--17-37-112-334-678-ect.. and starts up

I did try a cold air test with no power on IPR and could not hear any leak so I stop there, not sure if that is normal.

Any ideas what the issue would be?

Thanks in advance.

Forgot to add I do have a new front cover and LPOP

what oil filter are you using?? hopefully not one that comes with its own cap, a lot of the ones with their own cap are too short and will not hold the drain back plunger down. Napa sells the one with the cap on it and it is the wrong filter for these trucks. Make sure you have a factory cap and either a Fram or Ford filter on it, they are the exact same thing.

Sounds like your sct fitting its attached to your oil pump under the intake manifold they have a history of failure and eventually will fail completely causing a no start
