Default motor cutting out

Ok so my truck has been cutting out every once in a while it seems to do it more after it warms up i recently had the ficm replaced and for a while had no problems 2-3 months but now its starting to cut out it hasnt died or anything but it does start to cutout and comes right back it also happens more when the truck is just idling. and whether or not this is related or not im not sure but it has a smell in the cab once it gets warm i cant tell what it is exhaust or some other fluid leaking the smell under the hood seems to come from up by where the ficm is. any suggestions to what could be the problem.. i also bought the ficm from ford and had another shop install they said it may need programmed at ford but may not so after the truck started again i figured i was in the clear

normally that smell will be exhaust from a leaking up pipe. Are you having any problems with it starting once it is warmed up?? Has the ICP sensor ever been changed? look for an oil leak coming down the back of the block toward the trans, if you see that then the ICP sensor may be failing, oil comes right through the sensor and also damages the connector, it can cause rough idle and also stalling at idle, the new ICP sensors should come with a new pig tail because the oil will penetrate the wire.
