Default 05 6.0 Crank but no start questions

Hey guys... read a ton of the threads on "cranks but no start" issues and know the list of the usual suspects. I don't have the scanner or enough tools/time/workspace to try to dig into it on my own, so it's about to be towed to the dealership but I'll give you the rundown on it if anybody cares to guess at the most likely culprit.

Had the oil cooler replaced ~10 days ago due to significant leak. Ran like a top since then approx 300-400 miles. 20 mile round trip to work about 5-6 times, 160 mile round trip out of town, several errand runs... NO ISSUES, no power loss, no rough running, quick starts, no hot start issues.

Yesterday got home from work, about an hour and a half later wouldn't start to run errands. Only thing I've really tried is disconnecting ICP sensor, no luck.

Anybody have any ideas of the most likely culprit, given that there were no warning signs, and truck didn't die on the road? Ran fine until I shut it off at home, then will not go since. Also keep in mind the oil cooler done recently... if it got dirt or whatever in the system for that could it take 3-400 miles before it became a problem?

Most likely to be a clogged IPR valve, it is very common after a HPOP install or even a oil cooler install, if the screen under the cooler was cracked or even partially missing the the debri could end up on the IPRscreen causing these issues.

Just went through the same thing. Died on the wife no cel, no codes. It was a clogged ipr due to a wearing hpop. Also as a side note my cps went out at the same exact time. Absolutely a bear to diagnose with two separate issues. I personally would have the dealership check the tsb's on your truck and maybe a diagnostic, then get it to a quality independent shop specializing in diesel repair. They are generally cheaper and faster with better work quality and use aftermarket "upgraded" parts. Just my two cents. Good luck, hope its a cheap fix

Mine was ficm. . . Ran over 300 miles sat/sun, perfectly. Never missed a beat. . . Monday get up for work, crank no start. . .after testing found low ficm volts(23-24) . . Got test ficm and fired right up.

Turns out that's exactly what happened to me, as long as I can trust the dealership. Gunked up IPR with a small crack in the screen, and an ICP that failed at the same time. Back on the road, lighter in the wallet, and the truck should be sold soon.
