Default Ckeck irp

Anyone know the best way to check the irp.

I un plug it and it does not change the readout on the ae.

One time I will have high pressure not quite as much as desired, but with in a couple hundred lbs. Next time will read the standard 104.4 or 105.5 will not move.

Thanks.

IPR or ICP, the ICP gives you the actuall pressure, the IPR regulates the pressure and it will read in %,, 85% meens it is maxed out and it should be in the 20-35% range once started. If you susspect the ICP sensor then just unplug it and see if it runs better, it will run without the ICP sensor plugged in but it will NOT run with the IPR unplugged as it will bleed off the max amount of pressure and it will never see the 500psi needed to start it.

Found the problem the ipr came apart. the bottom blew off the end. Gonna have to take the cover off to see if any got in the pump.

Bought it at napa when I first got the truck, I had read on hear not to buy at napa, but I had already put it in.

Have you heard of one coming apart like that? How far will I have to go to clean it all out?

Thanks

did the screen just come off and stick inside or did the plunger and spring come out of it?? if the screen just stayed in when you removed it then you can use a pick to get it out. if it realy came apart then you will have to take the pump cover off, everything should be in the cover.

No Bob the pump went too.

Got the pump back and am checking as I go back together.
If I put air in the pipe that bolts onto the pump should air go through?
And if I take the hose off and hold my finger on the bottom and put air in top it blows through.

Seems I should have no leaks this way.

Can the pipe from the pump to the stand pipes be replaced without pulling the engine?

That is the only thing left that I have not replaced.

Thanks

Have a good fourth.

if you put air directly into the branch tube then air should not leak out of it, both of the 04 pumps I dealt with would actually bleed air back to the resivour, I could hear the air gurgling in the oil, the pump was still good though.
It is a lot easier to remove the trans and motor back plate to change out the branch tube, not something to just change unless it is cracked and leaking.

When I put my finger over the hole that goes to the pump and put air into the hole that goes to the plate there is no resistance at all, sounds as if the line is off the oil rail but I can hear the air down below the head.
