Default FICM has correct voltage runs rough

I have an early model year 04 f-350 6.0 128xxx miles. FICM voltage never dropped below 48v during the buzz test, key on after buzz test, cranking test, running immediately after cold start, and @ 2000 rpm's for 1 minute. no tuner, no exhaust, yes air filter upgrade. truck takes 5-8 minutes driving to even get out of its own way. no service engine light on dash. a pal used his popular brand scanner, and the following codes #'s were displayed, P0267 (Cylinder 3 Injector Circuit Low), P0269 (Cylinder 3 Contribution/Balance Fault), P0272 (Cylinder 4 Contribution/Balance Fault) and P0678, (Cylinder 8 glow plug circuit).

Also the truck is chugging, goes away when i mash the throttle. along with, either fuel or exhaust in the coolant bootle (de-gas bottle?) and i can hear fuel or air flow at the fuel filter where the under hood fuel filter is located. it appears that the coolant bottle has got hot to the point that the threaded portion where the cap screws on is warped.

i have some hotshots to add to oil if suspected coking of injectors, haven't tried it yet. I can't help but think that a head gasket or bad injector.

All positive replies are greatly appriciated.

Throw the hot shots away and get rev- x a little more expensive but well worth it

Sounds like you've got some bad injectors bud, and I'm not sure rev-x is going to help this situation.

As for rev-x vs. hotshots, I know some that use each, and I haven't heard complaints against either. I've personally used rev-x and know it works, but heard nothing bad about hotshots.

If it was me, I would pull valve covers, do o-rings and copper crush washers on all 8 injectors, and I would move injector 3 and injector to different holes when doing this to see if the problem follows the injectors or stays at that hole. It's very possible you just need 2 new injectors. If you do get new injectors, do all the o-rings on all of the injectors anyways.

Mdub707

Thank you for your reply and suggestions. Can you recommend where to purchase injectors, O rings, and washers? Not sure how much $$$ at dealer, along with others wanting core or $$$. I will look at all options to make my $$$ go the farthest.

If you end up having to purchase injectors, your best bet is Ford. They're the best you can get. In my eyes... buying them anywhere else and you're taking a risk. Some sell "reman" injectors that they've done nothing to, other than replacing external o-rings. Ford actually replaces spool valves and I believe I read they put new nozzles on too. They are the way to go. They also come with a 12k miles/12 month warranty from Ford.

As for the o-rings/etc, I believe they can be had on Ebay. Bob should have that info... hopefully he sees this tonight. I know he said it was about $5 per injector for the o-ring kits, simple and cheap.

You may also want to look for wire or harness wear on the reported cylinders 3,4 and 8.

These 6.0s are known for this. But that won't fix fuel in the coolant.

3 is on pass side second back/ 4 and 8 on drivers side, second and last on that side, I get my Orings from dealer for just under $5 a set/each injector/. I got price from dealer for $230 a piece for injector. Tousley Ford has a good price on them too and they all require the core back or they keep your $185 core deposit.

If you ever have a suspecr injector and just want to move it to a different hole make sure you move it to a position on the drivers side, it is alot easier to get to the drivers side then it is to get to the pass side so if the injector winds up being bad it will save you tons of time.
Also you said you have a fopriegn substance in the degas bottle, we need to look at that a little better too, if it is fuel then you either have a cracked head or an injector cup cam loose and lost its seal. if it is exhaust reidue then the EGR cooler has failed and can cause bigger problems if not addresed soon.

Injector cup? Where is it located? How is it repaired? Thank you for your reply
