Im also told on these old diesels the lift pump can leak and also a cracked injector seat can do this. Its a low mile truck, 150K and the banks has been on it only 3k miles or so. The Banks instruction was followed by turning up the spified number of flats. Its wastegated, and neversees more than about 10 pounds of boost. It had tons of fuel leaks when I got it. 2 injecter line nuts were cracked and a returnline under th glowplug controller had a split in it and was hidden by the mesh covering the line. The intake manifold pan gasked would fill up and run down the back of the block like a river ! Got all that fixed and now addressing the continuing oil/fuel issue.....FYI I run 50/50 diesel/veggy oil in the rear tank and it runs great and is real quiet on the veggie oil ") Sill this truck has been a nightmare so far.

No .. it must bepressurized off the truck to Diag.

The lift pump is the other way .. I would start with lift pump .. Install a 12Volt Holley Red pump .. easy and they will Prime the fuel system quickly after fuel filter changes.

I installed one and would never go back ..

I agree with the lift pump being the most likely culprit. I have a holley red waiting to go on my truck as well, but if money is tight I believe you can get a new OEM lift pump for about $20.

this is the second lift pump, new, old one was ok as it turns out fuel leak was from the line to the lift pump...yes I want to go electric because I get a lot of bleed down...it will start easy enough then run rough till fuel refills the line from the tank and the filter. Any 3 to 5 pound electric should do, but first things first, FYI the new lift pump cost 35$ plus tax at O'rilies, I have to fix all the crap in the tanks so th bleedback isn't an issue but I ave a iggr fish to deal with first.
