When I had mine I was in southern California. Not a spot of rust on it anywhere.

Wow, great info! Thank you dortiz! I learned a lot from this. While wishing I knew this before I got myself a 91 f-250 IDI headache!.. Fuel injection pump, batteries, starter, and block heater plug-in later, I am still having trouble. Learned a lot, also the coolant additives you speak of? What exactly would I be looking for? I just did a flush when I did the block heater plug a week or so ago and have no idea when it was last done. I called napa, advanced auto, autozone. They all said they're was nothing special just regular green antifreeze. Thanks in advance!

It is not just regular green antifreeze , you place that additive in it so you won't run into cavitation down the road, and have to have a sleeve placed into number 8 cylinder I think it is . You can buy already precharged coolant, I believe it is fleetguard and a couple others.

Thanks for the info I wish I had read this before I started working on my injectors and glow plugs. Do you have any pictures of the return rail? I think the previous owner modified the system and not sure he did it right!!

Been real busy these past months with college, been building up the backyard, just got the concrete poured yesterday for half the counter tops, and currently trying to find a place for all my things in the garage so I can epoxy that floor. Maybe next month I will be tearing up the rock and dirt next to the driveway to fix some back leaks and lay new rock. Just cant catch a break!
