Default my homeade fuel concoction

I'm a brand new member as of 5 minutes ago. Anyway, I always make a 55 gal. drum @ a time. Here it is... 12 gallons of #1 pump diesel, 1 qt of cetane boost, the 1 in the silver bottle, and then fill the drum the rest of the way with used engine oil, used a.t.f., used hydraulic fluid, etc. the reason for the real diesel, is that I live in the high country of Colorado, and if I don't add that, it tends to be a little too thick, and the power just isn't quite right. I figured this recipie out on my own by touch and go. I also killed one of my 6.9 trucks when I first started experimenting, because I was just sticking a funnel in my fuel tank, and pouring the used oil straight in. I figured the 2 huge, long spin on fuel filters would suffice. BOY WAS I WRONG!!! I work at a transmission shop, so I have access to un-limited amounts of used oils. My method for filtering goes something like this.. I ran across a 12 person jacuzzi that was broken, but the large filter chamber and 220 v. motor were good. I made some piping modifications so as to circulate in the chamber only. this is my first step. second, I made my rounds to approx. 15 thrift stores, buying up all of the old stereo speakers, which i salvaged all of the magnets, and threw the rest away.so I line the circulating chamber with magnets and fill 3/4 of way,cap the chamber and circulate for 20 min. chamber holds 10-11 gal. then siphon oil into the 55 gal drum. Electric fuel pump with 2 in line, ford, h.p.,fuel inj. filters before the pump. i repeat this process until i have 43 gal of de-metaled used oil in drum, then i add the 12 gallons of #1, and the cetane boost. last is different electric fuel pump with 3 of same filters, 2 before, and 1 after the pump, and fill up both tanks with a little left over. I don;t know about microns and such, but I haven't killed another engine, and it's been 5 years so far with my low budget method. thanx for reading. i would love to hear some feedback, critisism, and just anything really. I love to hear about alt fuels

I never thought of using speaker magnets. Pretty cool setup it sounds like!

I average about 25-28 m.p.g. Was only getting 14-18 using #1 diesel at the pump.
