Well some of you may know that i used to be a die hard cummins guy. Ummmm well the world of divorce got in the way and had to let my baby go to a better home. On to the problem at hand, an 02 2500 dmax that made its way into my garage for the sum of a song. Couldnt believe i got it for what i did pay, and still cant. My problem is that the truck had some recent work done to it, why im not sure. It had the 6spd manual trans replaced along with the transfer case. Im assuming there was an issue with the installation of the trans because the adapter plate on the rear of the engine is cracked and leaking coolant as fast as i can dump it in the over flow container. That part is now fixed with a used plate assembly i found in a salvage yard. The next issue is that the truck starts fairly easy down to about 30* so far(hasnt been any colder in nebraska yet) and idles as smooth as a sewing machine. But............as soon as the throttle pedal is touched the engine misses like crazy and shakes. There is no abnormal smoke from the tail pipe and revs from idle fairly quickly but with the shake in it. Any ideas on what to look for? My father is thinking is may be an injector but im leaning toward an over heated engine and burned rings or piston as the truck was parked within 500 miles of having the new trans and transfer case installed in it. Any help here would be a good start. It also has 278K miles on it also and unsure if it ever had injectors replaced. Thanks for reading everyone!

New to the forum and wanted to say hello to everyone,
with that out of the way I have a little problem that hopefully someone can help me with
I recently purchased a used Road Armor front bumper for my 2003 2500HD but unfortunately it didn’t come with the mounting brackets. I have a friend who said he could fabricate a set for me but with the bumper weighing close to 200 pounds it’s not the easiest thing in the world to hold the bumper in place while he tries to figure out the measurements. So I figured it might be easier and simpler to reach out and see if anyone has one on their truck of similar body style and wouldn’t mine sharing, could you take a picture of it or sketch it out and possible give me the measurement specks on them.
Thank you guys in advance for any help.

I have been working with my sisters 2001 2500HD for a while now keeping it going.

If it is parked at an angle where the front is higher than the rear the truck will NOT start, No if and or but about it. Have to prime the system to get it to fire.
The sucker gets 25mpg average driving and about 20 if you are laying some rubber down at every other stop light.
When it is idling the rpm surges up about 50RPM and drops back down instantly and it does this about twice a minute.

I was wondering if some of this was normal.

The truck is bone dry, it is not leaking a single drop of anything (well, except the axle seal is going).
So far I have changed all the u-joints, wired in some new speakers, changed the oil about a dozen times, and done the water pump (something I swear I'll never do again).

My dad has a line on an early '00s model 2500hd 2wd that has a blown engine. Not sure about the trans. His idea is to get the truck, pull the dmax, and put his 12v cummins in it and maybe even try to use the allison if its still good. I've never done much more than change the oil in a dmax, so i was curious as to how much of a pain itll be to make this swap and if the allison is even compatible with the 12v...seems like it would be an awesome machine if it could happen :U:

hey everyone new on here deperately trying to find some answers. my problem began a month ago when my gf filled the truck up with gas. the fpr cut the fuel off so i dropped the tank an wiped it dry an have put twi fuel filters on it. about every 3 or 4 days i can drive it with no driveability problems. you can get in it the next day an will spin but no start. the fpr solenoid is constantly humming if i unplug it it will run but bad of course.it has done this several times. finally i loaded it up an took to a dealer . i left the fpr unplug so we could move it around. so the dealer plugs it up an it ran like a new one.i have a bullydog programmer on it but it has been on there for a few years. so i brought it home an gonna wait for it to do it again. it was setting a code 87 88 89 90 everytime this thing wont crank, the fpr is humming bad. i have no surge at idle with it either . anybody have any suggestions or no what may be wrong ??????????????

The black barb broke off inside the hose. so right now the only way i can run the truck without loosing coolant is to delete the heater core. perfect timing....
But any one know if the black plastic fitting can be removed? it does twist around but does not move back or forth. :humm:
