I've got mixed opinions on this one, but since I do a lot of driving in CA, I just installed a hard mount kit in my truck. Plug it in, the phone auto answers and shuts the radio off. It really is pretty sweet and much more convenient than having to pick it up look at it see who it is...... Not sure if it's any safer, but I like it.

if rush hour is so bad there do they have an anti idling law?
if it takes 2 hours to 10 miles thats alot of idling -

I use to drive a big rig over the road, and I went to LA a lot, and let me tell you, when I would go there, the only time I could make any real good time was in the morning hours of between 2-4am... any other time I just had to grin and bare it...
