Ok, this is going to sound a bit strange. I am heading to Northwest Iowa to visit my family (my mom grew up there). I always try to go when corn is in season so I can get some real corn and bring some back to enjoy. My cousin is renewing her vows over July 4th so we are going a bit early. She thinks some corn will be available around July 4th.

I was wondering if any of you are corn farmers or have friends who are. I was curious what the outlook for sweet corn this year with the weather?

Any help would be much appreciated!!

 

I'm in Illinois myself. With all the rains we had most of it is either just comin out a the ground or not more then a foot tall yet so not lookin good for those dates here. With any luck maybe Iowa is ahead of us some. We just never seemed to get more two days between dryin up enough to get in the fields and the next rain hittin at any one time.

If you can find a Farmers Market kinda thing you may have better luck. The smaller garden type growers that sell at them things may have gotten enough in to be ready early.
