Default Not A Good Weekend

So, snowboarding was great Sunday. Good snow, warm, clear weather, just beautiful. Great day to be on the mountain. Now, I am still a beginner, so I stick mostly the blue trails, just getting more and more comfortabe on the board. I even took a few Black diamond runs today, and really did all right. Had fun, until . . . . .

I was cruising down a blue run and there was a limb stuck out of the snow. Tried to avoid it but at my speed no go. Caught the tip of the board and spun me FAST! wound up faceplanting, which is not unusual for me. Anyhow, my left arm found a void under the snow and found the restof the limbs instead. When I cartwheeled over, my hand got stuck. The damage - double compound fracture. I knew it instantly, even before I stopped tumbling.

So, 7 hrs later I finally got on the surgery table and they reset the arm and installed 2 pins. So, if anyone wonders why emails are a little slower or shorter, I am down to one hand for typing!

Sucks, but thats life!

That sucks, I am glad to hear you're ok. I knew there was a reason why every time I try to go snow boarding something bad happens right before I am supposed to go... That is the kind of stuff that makes it hard to make a living. Hope all goes well for you. -

Thanks guys! Yeah I think I am done for the year, but next year I'll beback atit. Its just too damn fun up there to hang it up. Sure makes typing at bitch . . . . .

Doc says about 6 weeks, I have to go back for a checkup this week, probably for xrays and to pull the stitches.

Yeah, I heard the arm break (left, and I am right handed, thankfully!) and right away I knew I was in trouble. After the tumbling stopped, checked to see if anything else was efed up. Nope. Unlocked my board and started walkin down the hill! Sucks, it was a BEAUTIFUL day! -
