Yeah the boat probably needs its own thread.

Not sure what the bell housing is but the engine is a GM, they call them the "Iron duke". I believe the put them in cars back in the 60's and 70's. The head is unusual as the intake and exhaust are on the same side.

Any progress on the boat? lost a head gasket in my dads 24" running a 351 ford and thinking I could drop a v2203 in pretty easy. I already make the adapters. curious on how this project is going.

Boat is coming along slowly. I dropped it off today for some aluminum welding. Here are some pics of the adapter and the engine sitting in the boat. I believe it's going to be much easier than the truck conversions.

Neat! Yeah, that looks a whole lot easier... does the boat use power steering?

that sure simplifies things... are you going to use the boat's old alternator? I vaguely remember them having to be marine specific to be technically legal.

I was wondering about the outdrive. The 4, six/305, and 350 all had different ratios if I remember right. The 350 sterndrive gears are around 1.5:1 and the 4 cylinders were something like 2:1 ... maybe the 350 (260 hp) gears would get it closer to the right prop with the Kubota?

Beagle. I am hoping the gearing is like you mentioned. The boat I am thinking about converting is a 351 Ford. The kubota will make about the same torque as the 351. It doesn't need to be fast. Just to get us out to drop traps.

Selling my original 96 S-10 Kubota conversion, this one has the IDI engine. The body is rough but it runs good. New tires & brakes. $5000.00 Tennessee
