Not to say that the Triton V10 isn't a great engine. I have 165,000 on it and it still pushes hard. Thing is that I know eventually its going to get tired. So why not build its replacement in the meantime! So Im pretty sure ... JOIN NOW TO REMOVE TRACER

Default Bye bye triton

Not to say that the Triton V10 isn't a great engine. I have 165,000 on it and it still pushes hard. Thing is that I know eventually its going to get tired. So why not build its replacement in the meantime!

So Im pretty sure (unless someone talks me out of it with lots of better options) that Im going to switch it out for a 12v Cummins. I want the simplicity of mechanical and the tried and true power. I don't care about pushing a button to select my power level.. if its 1200hp....its always going to run 1200hp!

I know a lot about gas engines and gas turbines.. Not so much on the same page with diesel. So I will tell you what Im looking for and maybe you can help me get the right parts for the job.

Im looking for power and reliability. Ive seen 800 hp daily drivers and thats what Im going for. Im not into tractor pulls or all that stuff. My truck does see mud but usually its a parking lot princess. I do like to take it out to the dunes quite a bit but at 10,000 lbs it could definitely use a different power plant.

Throw some ideas. I think Im going to buy a core and do the building. People are talking marine pistons with the marine injectors... I have been googlin a lot and cant seem to find vendors and or reasons why to go that route.

it isnt hard to get 800 out of a p-pumped 12 valve at all. deffinitely gonna need twins to have it be a daily driver tho. prolly be cheaper to find a wrecked truck to cannibalize tho bigger injectors, delivery valves, timing bump, 3 or 4k gsk, take the fuel plate out, headstuds n o rings. once ya start u arent gonna wanna ever stop! the rest of the drivetrain is gonna need some major help to hold that much power tho. you might wanna post this in the 12 valve section, those guys really know their stuff. i've learned a lot in a short time, good luck on this project, someday i hope to get my 12 valve into a ford
