Default 03 commom rail - 12v w/ P7100

I have been known to have a few stupid moments, but I am really wanting to investigate the possibility of selling off my ECM, CP3, and heads ect. for a chance to get back to a 12 valve system with the mechanical P7100 pump. Since I have been running this 24v I just so miss running my old veggy oil mixes during the nice spring/summer/fall weather here in Michigan.
Anyone have experience in this?
Anyone have use for these 24v parts?
I bought this 03 because I needed the room the 4-door cab offers, but i really miss, well here is the truth. Between homemade Biodiesel and veggy oil, I would go for month's without ever pulling up to a pump to fill my truck.....Now that's the life. And hey I even love the smell............

any info on such a swap?....

ive actually heard of a p pump swap onto a commonrail, not sure how it works but i stumbled on it just the other day on the net, might be worth looking into so that you dont have to swap so much

yeah, putting the pump on the CR isn't cheap. If you have a lot of time and resources you could get the parts made, but it's probably easier to just swap motors. I'm thinking your best bet would be to sell your whole motor/ecm/etc. together to someone wanting to put a CR in something. What trans are you running now?
Anything can be done, and to swap I'm thinking you can probably break even on money, but its gonna take a lot of time to get everything electrical working properly.

This 03 of mine is a later model that has the CP3 injection pump. And what I am looking at is swapping the pumps and the ECM, and it would seem the heads may need to be part of that package. I want the old fuel system to run biodiesel and blend Biodiesel with veggy oil, which I have done for years and a number of buddy's have been doing on the 12v's. Plus I want to run my truck and tell it what to do, on these new ones the computer does everything. If the computer starts screwing off what good is the little guy working out of his shop.......?.....And I"m not looking for enough horsepower to pull my house, I just like good economical work truck that I can have a little fun with, so the 12v really are fine for me.

2 Things I hate ------------

Taking my truck to the dealership .....for anything!!!!
Going to a diesel pump to pay for fuel that is actually bad for my truck !!!!

So changing out the ECM and going to an older fuel system is of interest to me.
will I someday actually follow through with this? possibly

Would consider a complete moter swap.
I guess the electrical aspect is my biggest question. How many electricalalterations would need if I did a full motor swap? May really be the best use of my time.

i swapped a complete 12v into my 99 that had the vp44. my auto tranny wouldnt shift right, so i have lock up and OD switches to shift my auto then my tachometer didnt work, because im not getting a crank reading, which is a problem u would have with your s also with a complete motor swap. good luck,

imo i dont think 4700 would be expensive for all the parts besides the pump.

As requested by many I finally have an update on the CR/P-Pump conversion. The conversion has been basically flawless since it's creation in early '05 and has been installed on 2 trucks with great success. The only modification that was made was a relocation of some mounting holes on the front cover to reduce gear drive noise. As much as I would like to sell this as a "one size fits all, bolt on kit" due to the broad range of pump\injector choices and varying engine/truck needs and applications. Each "kit" would have to be modified to fit the needs of each customer and their application.

Perfect for someone who wants the reliability, fuel milage, and "cheap" hp of a mechanically controlled engine in their 3rd Gen Dodge without doing an engine swap while still utilizing the OEM gauge cluster. Or for those who are transplanting a Cummins from a Dodge to another vehicle. A CR engine with this conversion is just a streetable as any 12v or converted 24v in use today. All parts used except for the cover, injection lines and a few brackets are genuine Cummins, Bosch or Dodge. The use of cusom pieces was kept to a minium to lower costs and ease maintaince.

On the competition side the advantages are obvious, huge amounts of FUEL and RPM!!! If your like most and feel that life begins at 5000rpm, and are tired spending huge amounts of money swapping boxes/programmers only to get shutdown by that pesky de-fuel and drained fuel rails. Then this conversion is for you

Prices starting at. $4700.00 installed on most trucks.

This price includes: Cover, injection lines, injectors (including hold downs), all necessary gears/brackets, belt/idler, timing pin. This price does not include injection pump, or core charge for injectors. In order to get the full benefit of this conversion (RPM), high performance valve springs and an aftermarket cam is HIGHLY recommended. (* not included) The injectors included in the price are stock but can be upgraded for a fee. Call or E-Mail for questions.
