what engine for a 91 7.3idi

Im seriously considering putting a cummings 5.9 in my 91 crewcab 7.3 idi f-350 dually. How hard will this swap be? I have a auto tranny e40d my 7.3 non turbo has no power and alot of problems. What do you think? 12V or what......ideas wanted..........

Definately do the 5.9 You will not be sorry. I did the same on a 92 crewcab just like yours. Pm me for more details if you want. -

5.9 is great idea but make sure you know how confident you are with wiring. If you are not as confident go with the 12 valve a lot less wires (only 2 if you want no gauges or anything, one for the starter and one for the fuel.) -

id say 5.9 just swapped on in my 91f350 not to bad a job to do -

I wouldnt worry about it. You can use a destroked or fordcummins adapter plate to connect it to your E40D.

I'm starting the swap on the exact same truck (just SRW) but I'm putting in a 2001 24v and an NV5600. -
