2000 f250 gas to diesel swap ?s
I recently acquired a 2000 ford f250 gas burner from my father in law and don't get me wrong the 5.4 that's in it now runs good but it is a ford and every ford that I have owned except for my last f250 was a POS.
my last f250 had the 7.3 and I loved it ran great and did not have to worry about it. I have some questions on what kind of diesel I can swap into this 2000 f250 I just got.
personally I love cummins and was thinking about a 5.9 mechanical cummins so I would not have to worry about all the electronics but what all is really needed? and are there any other options that would work? would I still be able to use the stock transmission? would I need to swap the gas tank for a diesel tank? power steering lines, fuel lines, ac lines? and the other odds and ends.
I have a car so the truck does not have a deadline on when it has to be done it can sit till I get done but what all am I going to need and what type of trucks can I get the engine from and other parts do I need to just get a entire donor truck? or just certain parts of it?
