when someone figures out the correct studs size and length or part # for the new manifold I would be interested in that info as well

Still haven't gotten pictures but I know what I am doing Monday! Making adapter to my turbo. I haven't got a pyro yet but what thread are they normally? 3/8 not?

on these new manifolds there is a threaded boos between port 1 & 2, i was thinking about milling this down and it could be a nice place for the pyro. Is it better to have it where all 4 ports come together or is this place good also?

thanks for the picture.
I am not 100% sure about EGT probe location. maybe someone else can chime in. But my understanding is closest to the exhaust valve is more accurate, assuming all cylinders are firing the same. So from these pictures only, on these new manifolds, it looks like the 1-2 boss is a little bit closer to the fire than it would be at or just cylinder side of the collector. On the other hand at the collector you get a average of all 4 cylinders. With that said I was thinking to still go with the probe in the collector area. or you can try both places and plug the one you don't like.
I did not understand your question from before about the thread for the EGT probe, mine is 1/8" NPT tapered pipe. I think that is pretty common

Sorry about the mistype. I sent that question from my phone and it should have read 1/8 NPT not "3/8 not" was a mix betweeen fat fingering the keypad and auto correct.

I am probably going to do what you suggested and just tap both spots. It is not hard to do.

Thanks
Ken

The best location would be just below where the turbo mounts. There you would get an average of all four cylinders just before going into the turbo. The temps are more accurate there also.

At the location you are asking about it looks like you would only be reading from cylinder #1 and not picking up much, if any, from cylinder #2. You'll have to look inside the manifold and see what may be in the way of putting the probe there just under the turbo.

I did more research and put it before the collector. I would rather know how all cylinders are acting and if I have an injector foul up would see an egt rise instead of looking at one cylinder and assuming all are the same

Part Numbers for studs from mcmaster dot com

1 pc- 91059A510 Steel Thread-Locking Adjusting & Positioning Stud, M8x1.25 Thread, 35mm Overall Length, 8mm & 22mm Thread Lengths $.62 each

1 pack -90591A161 Zinc Plated Steel Hex Nut, Class 8, M8x1.25 Thread Size, 13mm Wide, 6.5mm High, packs of 100 $5.07

I already had 8mm washers here also the manfild collector is 8mm so the nuts work on that also.

so you are looking at $18 maybe total for hardware
