Default advice on what to look for in a 12V for my swap

So the motor is out of the 79 Bronco, and im now on the hunt for a Cummins to drop in. according to people that know alot about these (i definitely dont), a 12V 6BT diesel from a early to mid 90's dodge is whats needed. so i done a little bit of searching and found a few here and there, and most are priced up pretty high. I then found out that many people who are doing the swaps are getting theyrs out of old busses because its cheaper, but also because the turbo is at an angle that makes it easier to fit into a truck than the ones in the pickups or something like that?? then theres talk about what kind of pumps they can come with and which ones are better. so basically i dont know what im looking for. haha i mainly want to keep somewhat stock, to maintain mileage, and from what i hear they still have plenty of power stock. i also want something reliable, i hear horror stories about pump problems that cost 2 grand to fix on some. idk, what can yall tell me?

What are things to look for on a 12V for my swap?and is it better to get one from a bus than a pickup for some reasons? any advice is appreciated!

most people here seem pretty useless or they dont know. I am doing the same swap but on a 81 ford. You really want a 94-98 p-pumped 12 valve, there is nothing wrong with the earlier ones but the p-pump is hands down the best pump ever put on a diesel. The problem you have is not finding the motor it's everything else trans, intercooler, piping, radiator etc. You are better off buying a complete parts truck, if you are patient and look around you can find something in the $1-4,000 range. I got an amazing deal on my motor with very low miles but I think I am up to somewhere around $5,000 right now and I am fabricating all the swap stuff myself, motor mounts wiring fuel system etc. If you need any other info you can pm me I will gladly help. Oh and don't worry about the exhaust issue manifolds are easy to come by and there are ways to make the pickup one work also.
