The ECM only needs to see the cam and crank signals to work. It is debatable on some years if the cam signal is needed. I'm going to test this theory when I have a chance by disconnecting the cam sensor and seeing if all still works. Remember the only thing the computer does is mule for tachometer. All other sensor wires can be removed, this is what I did. Hind sight being 20/20 I should have left the entire wiring harness intact until EVERYTHING was done and driving for awhile, this would insure I had access to wires I could use. Food for thought, the harness has lots of possibly useful sensors. These unused sensors can be used to mule other things such as; additional water temp, trans temp, Ac high/low switch, air intake sensor, throttle position sensor. These sensor leads can be used for other things like possibly cruise control or VTN turbo control. They sell inexpensive monitors that plug into the OBD2 port that could monitor all the inputs.

So there are no check engine light issues with the emission sensors not sending info to the ECM?

Yes the check engine light will be on, this doesn't effect anything.

Do you have any pics of your down pipe and how you cleared the starter?

Cooling system upgrade. The current draw with the 2 factory electric fans was huge, the temp fluctuated alot they left 15% of the radiator uncovered. On my 3rd Champion aluminum 3 core radiator (never buy Champion!), they ALL leak....

So onto the upgrades.
All copper brass 2 core CSF, parellel flow AC condensor, shroud with triple Spal 10' fans and PWM controller. I've also changed my K26 turbo for the Garrett temporarily until the new Holset Hx30w comes in. Once the cooling has been upgraded I'll drive it a bit before I install the custom M injection pump with 7.5mm elements, I'm told this should be good to 250hp.

What advantage does the Holset turbo give you over the Garrett? Does it spool quicker, lower rpm, than either of the other 2?

is your M pump a Myna or Dieselmeken? Are the M pumps essentially a bolt on modification? Are there other mods to be made to allow the M pump to work properly with an engine originally designed for the MW pump? I definitely feel your pain with the Champion radiator! Looks like a good deal, but nooooo!

The Holset Hx30w is an industrial rated computer engineered turbo. With the computer engineering comes great efficiency, the maps on this turbo are spectacular. The turbo is good up to 5L egines and can efficiently boost to 30psi without becoming a heat pump. In a nutshell it should spool equal to the stock turbo produce more boost and with less back pressure which will lower EGTs.
I can confirm the factory Garrett to be a better turbo than the KKK. First drive with it today showed spool the same, higher cruising boost and 100 degrees cooler EGTs at 65mph.

Dieselmeken pump, he tells me it's pretty simple. Plug oil feed in block, and slightly bent fuel lines, thats all he said needed to be done. I'm sure there are other little things he forgot to mention, I'll post up what I find out. I start the pump upgrade tomorrow, wish me luck!
