Default 84 ford bronco 2 and 04 f150 triton v8

I've got 2 vehicles I would like to switch to diesel after I get out of the marines in a couple years. The first one is an 84 ford bronco 2 with a little 2.9 liter v6 my question with this is: is there a cummins that will fit in this? Being that it has such little space for an engine and all and am I going to need a million parts to make it fit? The second vehicle is an 04 f150 with the triton v8 this is a different story I just want to get all the "crap" out of it and get it back to the basics however I like the Hp I get with the v8 and I was wondering what the best swap would be for this truck to give me fairly equal power and towing capability while minimizing all the modern junk and maybe even boosting mpg?

Before u pick any motor, both these trucks will have to be hand made, no swap kits are available. I would think a kabota 4 Cyl would be nice in the bronco ll, and a cummins 4bt ( solid axle swap) or a om617 Mercedes 5cyl turbo in the f150. Cummins also makes a 3.3 4cyl turbo but it's a little hard to find

I'm not one of those guys who says "it can't be done". Any swap is worth a try, within reason of course. Several swaps have been done in rangers ( bronco ll) and f150's. I could've bought all my swap goodies in a kit but like building it myself much better, more satisfaction. Ranger and f150 sites will have some good threads on what ur trying to do, good luck with whatever u pick
