Default 94 6.5L Slow crank

My buddy dropped off his 94 2500 6.5L for to look at, he said it cranks real slow.(he doesnt speak great english and i speak even worse spanish) he dropped it off at the house while i was out, the batteries are drained so i got them charging tonight. i noticed he put 2 new batteries, an altenator, starter and all new cables. anybody have a cable diagram so i can make sure he has all that jazz right? also other things to check?

Be sure he's got at least 2 650 CA/800 CCA minimum batteries installed. If that checks out, see if he ran a cable from one positive terminal to the other, then off that connection, another cable to the starter. Then check and see if he's got both ground cables hooked to a good spot on the block, steel bracket, etc...

Does it still turn the engine over when the starter is en-gauged?

it just grinds found the front braket bolt to the starter was missing and the starter is cocked? anyone know the size of this bolt? also if the glow plugs are bad will that cause a starting problem in 80 degree weather?
