Default Smoking Powerstroke

I have an 09 F350 6.4 and just had the recall on the ECM done. Now about 5 minutes after the exhaust filter cleaning message comes on I make a trail of smoke that last approximately 20 seconds. Can anyone tell me if this is normal after the recall or is it a coincident that it started after the recall work was done and I have another problem? Thanks for any help I can get.
