95 12V CUMMINS NO TOP END POWER, ANY SUGGESTIONS
about a week ago my truck lost power severly. warmed up to running temp. i stomp on it and low to mid range screams like it should then right before overdrive its slugs severly.. almost like its not getting enough fuel or loosing boost? i kinda thought i was loosing boost at first. but now im thinking more fuel.. overdrive has NO power at all like it should and making it up a hill feels like a challange now.. any ideas on where to start? somebody told me to change the fuel filter so thats what im goin to do tonight but i cant see the filter taking that much power away. but i am new to cummins. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. my truck is a Bone stock 95 12v cummins with a full 3" exhaust.

i allways start with checking fuel....first pressure should be 35psi at 2000rpm....if its low change the filter.....if its still low change the OFV.....if its still low change the lift pump....if its good then start checking boost

You'd be surprised what a clogged fuel filter will do. Also a boost gauge is very easy and pretty cheap to install. You should just throw one on there. Good luck!!
