Default LEAKING OIL AT GLOW PLUGS

I HAVE A 04 F350 6.0 161,000 MILES STOCK, HAVE RESOLDERED FICM, RECHECK AFTER TRUCK WAS RAN TWO DAYS AND FOUND THAT THE KEY WAS 22VDC AND BUZZ WAS 48.2 VDC, AND RUN WAS 30.4 VDC. THIS WAS WITH POWER DISCONNECTED FROM THE GPCM. CHECKED BATTERY VOLTAGE AND FOUND THAT IT WAS 11.8 VDC, ALSO NOTICED THAT IT TOOK MAYBE 4-5 MINUTES FOR THE ALT TO CHARGING, BATTERIES ARE ABOUT A YEAR OLD.
BUT MY MAIN PROBLEM IS A HARD COLD START WITH LOTS OF BLUE SMOKE UNTIL OPERATING TEMP. I HAVE ALSO NOTICED OIL COMMING OUT AROUND THE GLOW PLUG HARNESS CAPS AND ALSO FOUND THAT TOW OF THE CONNECTORS WERE BROKEN ON DRIVERS SIDE. I HAVE ABOUT 6,000 MILES ON FUEL FILTERS AND HAVE JUST CHANGED MY OIL AND FILTER. OIL IS USUALLY CHANGED EVERY 5,000 MILES. DON'T HAVE ANY WAY OF PULLING CODES. TRUCK MISSES UNTIL WARMED UP. I HAVE A STRONG EXHAUST SMILE.

Hey blue smoke is not good sign!! Blue smoke is usually caused by lube oil getting involved in the combustion process. Some possible causes are turbocharger seals failure, pullover of lube oil from oil bath air cleaner sump, worn valve guides, piston ring failure, glazed cylinder liners, high oil sump levels. excessive big end bearing oil throwoff, low-grade fuel, fuel contaminated with auto trans flu, or engine lube placed in fuel tanks as an additive!! Just some info I pulled out of a book from school. Hope this helps, I'll see if I can find some more dirt. DAMN power strokes!! It's is pretty common in fords for turbo seals, and turbo oil lines to go bad, especially if you have programmer. Also could be sign of rings bc if oil is getting to glow plugs must have alot of oil pressure!! What is oil pressure gauge look like and check your air cleaner for oil blow-by!!

From the stealership.

You need to gain access to a scanner so we can pull codes and read sensor readings while cranking. Oil leaking out of the glow plugs is a bit odd. Is it coming out of all 4 on the bank or what? Are they tight?

Now, when you say operating temp, what if you have the block heater plugged in? What I am getting at is I wonder if you have a cracked head or something that allows oil to build up and it just takes that long to burn it off.

Where are you located?

oil is mixing with the fuel somewhere!!! But cracked head could deff be good possibility. It's probably clearing up at op. temp b.c it's finally hot enough to burn off the oil. I'm wondering if its rings, have u checked turbo seals and lines?

I HAVE NOT CHECKED THE TURBO SEALS OR LINES, KINDA NEW AT THIS ENGINE, WHAT AREA OF THE TURBO IS THE SEAL LOCATED AND WHAT DO I LOOK FOR IN THE OIL LINE.
THE LAST TIME I HAD A INJECTOR GO SOUTH IT WAS SMOKING LIKE THIS AND QUIT AFTER THE INJECTOR WAS REPLACED. CAN THE OIL BE COMING FROM A BAD INJECTOR.

One thing I noticed hasn't been mentioned yet. The powerstroke engines only have an o-ring on the injectors separating the high pressure oil from the fuel. If these o-rings go bad the 500 to 3000 psi oil pressure will migrate to the 60 psi fuel side and it then injects oil instead of fuel part of the time. My bosses truck had that problem. It was difficult to start and smoked blue until it warmed up. It ran fine after it warmed up and the smoke almost went away. Sometimes you could still see a hint of blue smoke. The other thing that you will notice if that is the problem is a high oil consumption rate.

Actually on the 6.0 it uses Orings to seal the fuel rail to the injector in the head, however High Pressure oil enters the injector through the top. Its not like the 7.3L where they are both in the head. The oil rail sits on top of the injectors and valves and everything.

AS far as leaking oil out of the glow plugs, after thinking about it I assume you mean the glow plug harness, where the wiring goes into the head at each cylinder. You either need a new harness, or need to replace the orings on it.
