Could be injector related. My buddy is replacing his injectors in his duramax right now. He had white smoke at an idle, but not that much while driving. He hooked it up to scanner and 2 faulty injectors turned up

does the smoke smell like raw fuel or sweet like burning coolant
im guessing its injector related. |

I think the fuel filter fixed it, i didnt drive enough after replacing the fuel filter to let the engine clear out. its been 2 days now and i havent noticed it smoking. I went about 30000 miles without replacing the fuel filter.
